Historia de "El Cristo".

Una pequeña muestra para poder ver la evolución de las Instalaciones Deportivas del Cristo durante el pasado siglo. En esta fotografía aparecen las instalaciones de la piscina exterior de 33,3 metros, inauguradas en 1953. La pileta contaba con  plataformas de salto (de 10, 5 y 3 metros). La profundidad máxima era de 4,5 metros. La medida era la habitual en la época (tres "largos"= 100 metros). Ocupaba el lugar donde ahora está la piscina climatizada de competición. Como dato curioso citar que se establecieron diferentes horarios para hombres y mujeres. Se derribó en 1990 para construir las instalaciones actuales.  Piscina del Cristo en los años 50. Esta es de la zona exterior de la piscina. A la izquierda  la cafetería de verano, y el edificio del fondo es el Hospital General de Asturias.
